Everyone is running on fumes ... especially the parents. Maybe we all just take a breath... take a step back ... and see that the world is tough on EVERYONE right now. It's not a competition. We are... 2020 was the Best Summer Ever Unpopular Opinion ... This summer has been one of the best that we've ever had. We got creative while staying at home.We found new activities to play together as a family.We explored parts of Michigan that we've never seen before.We've been to the beach at least once a week.My kids fell in love with the sunset and now request to go watch it.We woke up early to watch the sunrise.We watched movies from my childhood.Our relationships with those close to us flourished.We found new hobbies.We cooked together (and cleaned together).We immersed ourselves in nature. We played.We laughed.We loved.We grew. My... I Stopped Working Like I Don’t Have Kids I stopped working like I don’t have kids. Listen, 2020 has not gone the way it was supposed to for anybody. Especially working mothers. I don’t know about you, but my entire job became remote. This time seven months ago, I was working 40+ hours in an office. Ever since March 15th, I had to learn to work those hours from home … with kids! The early days of quarantine, everyone was so understanding and kind. If my kid popped in while I was on a video call to tell me that he wants another snack, everyone laughed. If I... My Son Called Me Fat My son called me fat. And the thing is … he’s not wrong. Now hear me out. Had this incident occurred a few years ago, it would have sent me in a downward spiral of feelings. It would have dredged up the time I was teased about my size as a kid. It would’ve triggered me to remembered the stupid nicknames I was called. It would’ve brought on flashbacks of how my weight has played a role in previous relationships (and subsequent break-ups).
